Chaos has a way of convincing us that it deserves all of our attention.
It arrives without warning, filling calendars, conversations, and quiet moments with things that feel urgent. Before long, we're moving from one obligation to the next, hoping that if we can just get through today, tomorrow might finally feel lighter.
Sometimes it does.
Sometimes it doesn't.
The truth is, life rarely waits for everything to settle before asking us to keep going.
There are seasons when the noise feels constant.
The unanswered questions.
The unexpected changes.
The moments where we wonder how we are supposed to keep showing up when our own hearts are asking for a pause.
That's where Deuteronomy 31:6 meets us.
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you."
There is something powerful about this reminder.
Not because it promises a life without difficulty.
Not because it guarantees every road will be easy.
But because it reminds us that we never walk through uncertainty alone.
Sometimes we spend so much energy asking God to remove the storm that we forget He promised to walk with us through it.
And maybe that is where peace begins.
Not when everything finally makes sense.
Not when every problem has been solved.
But when we remember that God is present in the middle of it all.
The workplace that feels heavy.
The season of waiting.
The conversation you’ve been avoiding.
The responsibility that feels bigger than your strength.
The moments where you quietly wonder, “How am I going to get through this?”
You are not required to have every answer today.
You are not required to be fearless.
You are simply invited to trust.
Because courage was never about the absence of fear.
It was always about moving forward while knowing you are not alone.
There is a difference between control and calm.
Control tells us we have to hold everything together.
Calm reminds us that we were never meant to carry everything by ourselves.
God does not promise that chaos will never come.
He promises that chaos will never have the final word.
So today, if life feels louder than your faith, pause.
Take a breath.
Return to the promise.
The same God who carried you through yesterday is already waiting for you in tomorrow.
And maybe the peace you’re searching for isn't found in a life without storms.
Maybe it's found in knowing who is standing with you in the middle of them.
"Be strong and courageous... for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you."
