It Won’t Always Be Like This

Some days, the weight of teaching feels heavier than anyone could explain. You walk into your classroom already tired. The stack of papers is taller than your coffee mug, and your smile feels a little forced. You love what you do — you know this is your calling — but lately, it’s been harder to feel the joy in it.

You whisper to yourself, “Lord, this can’t be it forever.”

And you’re right — it won’t always be like this.

There’s a verse that’s carried me through seasons like this one:

“The Lord will perfect that which concerns me.” — Psalm 138:8 (NKJV)

That means every detail — every student, every lesson, every tear you’ve cried after dismissal — He’s working through it all. Nothing is wasted. Nothing is too small for His attention. The Lord is still perfecting the parts of your story that feel unfinished.

The Classroom and the Calling

Teaching isn’t just a job; it’s ministry in motion. It’s showing up for 30 little lives who bring the world into your classroom every day — their hopes, their struggles, their stories. Some days, that’s beautiful. Other days, it’s heavy.

But even in the chaos, you are planting something eternal.

When the lesson falls flat, when you question your impact, when you’re running on fumes — remember that seeds don’t sprout the moment you plant them. The Lord is at work underground, in unseen ways, preparing growth you can’t yet see.

The Turning Point

It’s okay to admit that you’re exhausted. It’s okay to say, “I’m not okay today.” Even the strongest teachers have breaking points — but we serve a God who specializes in turning things around.

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” — Romans 8:28 (NKJV)

Sooner or later, it will turn in your favor. The peace will return. The passion will reignite. The classroom that feels like a battlefield today will one day remind you why you stayed.

For the Teacher Reading This

Keep showing up — not because it’s easy, but because you’re called. Keep trusting that the Lord is working behind the scenes. Keep believing that this chapter is not the end of your story.

It won’t always be like this.

He’s perfecting the things that concern you.

He’s strengthening you for what’s next.

And yes — it’s turning around for you.
